nau hafte / ਨੌ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ / nine weeks

I really don’t know if I’m going through another flare or not. My withdrawal process has been very interesting as I haven’t experienced full body eczema nor a ton of redness. I can tell that my eczema does get worse based of what I eat – sugar is a definitely no-no. I am hoping for recovery soon!

Face

My face flares whenever I eat something I shouldn’t – especially the left side of my face. Interestingly, I always thought my eczema was worse on the right side of my face but I guess that isn’t the case during withdrawal. Something really weird happened during the weekend though – after eating dinner (Mediterranean food) and a small piece of chocolate cake (first time I have eaten sweets in a long time) the left side of my face felt wet. Upon getting back to the hotel, I realized my face was weeping. This is the first time this has happened and I hope it’s not a reoccurring thing. The next morning, my face was fine and there was no weeping.

My chin is okay, the eczema has gotten slightly worse – I have been picking at it..

Neck is pretty dry. I feel like the eczema there has spread a bit, especially on the left side of my neck.

Arm

My arm is still pretty itchy. I don’t wake up in the middle of the night anymore itching, which is a good sign. However, I know I’ve been itching if my elbow pit stings in the shower.

Hands

UGH. My hands have gotten significantly worse. My worse nightmare has come true. It isn’t as bad as the first time my hands got destroyed. However, I can’t bend my hands again. It got worse over the weekend when I was out of town. It’s especially worse on my left hand. I’ve also been scratching some of my patches while I sleep I think.

The palm side of my fingers are covered with translucent blisters. I’ve also gotten weird white heads, especially on my left fingers. I would say yesterday was the worst day. My hands seem like they are healing today.

Overall it seems like I have gone backwards. My hands have gotten worse throughout the week and everything is a bit itchy. I’m hoping my hands heal during this week!

  1. Totally agree Benita – it is very unclear where we are in terms of the withdrawal process. I’m so sorry with how tough it has been to manage your hands.

I do know for sure you are doing a number of things correctly – from your diet to your routines. Keep up the excellent work! We will see great progress soon!!!
